The UK Lockdown Files are taking serious proportions. From the 100,000 leaked Whatsapp messages in the possession of The Telegraph UK newspaper, it appears now also that Matt Hancock, joked about the Covid vaccines.
Whether his utterances were indeed a joke (as interpreted by UK media outlets ) rather than bloodserious, will become apparent once the whatsapp messages themselves are published. For now, we only have the reporting by The Telegraph, which is followed by other British newspapers that copied the text word for word ( as we are used to from all media outlets ).
On 05 March 2023, The Telegraph published an article with the following content :
" On 25 January 2021, Hancock's media adviser Damon Poole asked him via WhatsApp whether he had spoken to World Health Organisation director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, about the New Variant Assessment Platform (NVAP) - a service offering the UK's expertise in detecting new variants of the virus.
Mr Poole then said, "I cannot promise anything, but I am trying to get an endorsement of the platform from Bill Gates."
In a response, Hancock said, "Tell him he owes me one given the number of people I have his chips injected ".
The revelation is one of many published by The Telegraph after the newspaper got hold of more than 100,000 WhatsApp messages from Mr Hancock's phone by the journalist to whom he entrusted them to ghostwrite his book Pandemic Diaries."
For the sake of completeness : Matt Hancock has had to resign as health minister for intimating with an aid and repeatedly violating Covid rules during lockdowns. Both Matt Hancock and his aid Ms Coladangelo were married at the time but not to each other. Hancock will for sure know why the rules could be broken ( like any other politician in all the countries involved ).
