WHO IS LINDA YACCARINO, THE NEW CEO OF TWITTER ?

After months of running Twitter, Elon Musk on 12 May 2023 appointed NBC Universal's global ad sales manager Linda Yaccarino (°1962 ) as its new CEO. She will reportedly start within about six weeks.

According to her profile on NBC's website, Yaccarino is president of Global Advertising and Partnerships at NBC Universal, where she would lead 2,000 employees on a team that would have generated more than $100 billion in ad sales and where she would enjoy an annual salary of $4 million. Her team would have formed partnerships with Apple News, BuzzFeed, Snapchat and Twitter, among others.

Linda Yaccarino is married to Claude Peter Madrazo who keeps his wife in the spotlight but does not have a profile herself on any social platform ( or at least not in her own name ). There is also not much information on what he does for a living, although a report shows that he previously worked for Turner Broadcasting where Linda herself worked for 20 years between 1992 and 2012 and met her husband. Both are of Italian origin and have had two children together : daughter Christian and son Matthew who both have private accounts on Instagram but are otherwise not active on social media at all. The same goes for their spouses.

From 1981 to 1985, Linda Yaccarino studied communication sciences and free art at Penn State University. She only earned a Bachelor's degree and did not pursue a Master's degree. What exactly she did after her studies and until 1992 ( date of joining Turner Broadcasting ) in unclear. Reportedly, she had done all kinds of jobs.

Apart from her work for Turner and then NBC, Yaccarino has worked for both Trump and Biden. In 2018, Yaccarino was appointed by President Donald Trump to a two-year term on his Council on Sports Fitness and Nutrition. As chairman of the Ad Council in 2021, Yaccarino also worked with the White House and Joe Biden to create a coronavirus vaccine campaign with Pope Francis and urge all citizens to get vaccinated.

According to the official version, Musk and Yaccarino first met on 18 April 2023 in Miami Beach where they appeared on stage together for a talk on " Twitter 2.0 From Conversations to Partnerships ". NBCUniversal also recently extended its partnership with Twitter for the 2024 Paris Olympics, a move Yaccarino alluded to in a tweet to Musk last week.

So now we come to the aspect not mentioned by most international media outlets ( only by The Washington Post and Business insider ) : Linda Yaccarino's has strong ties with ... the WEF, where she chairs the committee "the future of work". A good listener knows that the WEF wants to replace human labor by robots and that it has been saying for several years that millions of jobs will be lost. That's Linda's work.

Furthermore, she also sits on the WEF's committee for media, entertainment and culture and a guest speaker at Davos 2020,2021,2022 and 2023.

And yes, Yaccarino has her photo and bio on the World Economic Forum website.

How she managed to become so successful and now will fire the lead bullet as Twitter's CEO ( at a salary at least 5x as high as her current income ) needs no further explanation.

Many Twitter users are convinced that Yaccarino will bring Twitter back to old habits and tone down Musk's initiatives on freedom of speech. He denies this but the mere fact that he is bringing in a WEF'er is enough for most to completely plummet his credibility. He's one of them.

And Yaccarino, meanwhile, is also already getting the full load on Twitter.

In this tweet, you can see how she played to the public, at the time of corona with the mask saga, disinfecting hands and keeping her distance.

At the time of the vaccination campaign, she has been tweeting and sending videos into the world like a savage to, you guessed it, get the vaccine. Makes sense. She was also working for Biden at the time, who had put her in charge of a promo campaign for the vaccine.

To be continued, no doubt.
